Bukit Timah Estate Noted to be a residential hub for the wealthy, Bukit Timah is home to many condominiums, landed property and top-ranked schools in Singapore. It is a highly sought after residential district located in the Central Region that spans 18 Sq Km with an estimated 78,000 residents. The estate is named after Singapore’s tallest hill, Bukit Timah. Bukit is Malay for "hill" and Timah is Malay for "tin", hence the often mistaken belief that the hill was full of tin. In fact, the word 'Timah' was derived from the Temak tree which grew abundantly in the area. At Bukit Timah, residents and visitors alike can hike along the nature trails to enjoy the natural beauty of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve or soak in the scenery with a leisurely stroll through the Singapore Botanic Gardens. There are several shopping locations such as Serene Centre, Bukit Timah Plaza, Beauty World Shopping Centre, Jelita and Cororation Plaza. For food, residents can head to Sixth Avenue which is lined with myriad coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Amenities
